The unique feature of the Air King High Performance Bath Fan Series is its UL listed molded high impact plastic housing, which offers multiple benefits. Unlike traditional bath fan housings made of steel that require bending and welding, the plastic housing of this series eliminates the need for welds that can break over time, leading to a louder operation or rattling noise. Metal housings tend to reverberate and echo noise, while the plastic material of the Air King series naturally absorbs sound, providing a quieter experience.

The high impact plastic housing is particularly advantageous for those living near saltwater or using the fan in high moisture areas, as it will not rust and extends the unit's lifespan. The fan's snap-in installation system makes it incredibly easy to install, with a bracket that nails or screws to the ceiling joist, allowing the housing to simply "snap-in." This simplified installation process means replacing an existing fan can be done without the need to tear out large sections of the ceiling or climb into the attic.

The fan is designed for continuous operation, with a 4-inch plastic duct collar featuring a back draft damper for quiet operation and draft protection. It is ENERGY STAR qualified and UL listed for use over a tub or shower on a GFCI protected branch circuit. With a 50-CFM blower operating at 0.5 sones, the fan is suitable for rooms of approximately 50 square feet.

The housing of the fan measures 9-1/16 inches wide, 8-1/2 inches deep, and 4-3/4 inches high, with a durable white polymeric grill measuring 10" x 10".
